Platinum Partners With Singleton Moms to Assist Families Impacted by Cancer
DUBUQUE, IOWA – Platinum Supplemental Insurance and its representatives are proud to contribute $35,000 to Singleton Moms, a nonprofit organization located in Scottsdale, Arizona, that serves single-parents who are battling cancer, and their families. This gift was the capstone of an eight-month partnership in which Platinum Supplemental Insurance and its sales representatives worked with Singleton Moms to provide support to parents in need through monetary donations and planned activities. Platinum Supplemental Insurance sales representatives raised funds for the organization by contributing portions of their commission, while Platinum matched these donations.
Every year, Platinum Supplemental Insurance reviews and selects a nonprofit in the location of its annual company trip for a unique service project opportunity. The organization must have financial or volunteer needs that the company can assist with throughout the year and during its annual trip. Singleton Moms is dedicated to nurturing single parents battling cancer and their minor children by meeting the practical day-to-day needs of the entire family while providing hope for tomorrow. After recognizing the similarity between the nonprofit’s mission statement and its own, Platinum Supplemental Insurance reached out to Singleton Moms to coordinate ways the company could support the organization while attending a company trip in Scottsdale, Arizona.
In December, Platinum Supplemental Insurance employees donated 20 boxes of items for Singleton Moms’ Bare Necessities program along with Christmas gifts for the children whose parents are fighting cancer and leaning on Singleton Moms for financial and emotional support.
On March 10, Platinum Supplemental Insurance President Wayne Briggs presented a donation of $35,110 to Singleton Moms during an inspirational meeting at the Omni Montelucia Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.
“Platinum believes in giving back to those in need, and our partnership with Singleton Moms has had a positive impact on their community as well as our sales representatives and employees,” Briggs said. “Their mission is something Platinum can relate to, and everyone was inspired by their stories.”
Singleton Moms’ founder Jody Farley-Berens and staff members Keeley Forrestel, Anne McIntire and Nichole Karpinsky accepted the generous gift. “As a small nonprofit, we are so grateful for partnerships that support our missions in such a big way, and Platinum Supplemental Insurance’s generosity has blown us away,” said Jody Farley-Berens, Singleton Moms Executive Director. “We feel so blessed; out of all the wonderful organizations to choose from, they chose us. Their donation will make a tremendous impact!”
Farley-Berens also presented to the group about the services Singleton Moms provides to its families and their mission to continue to grow their support to more families each year.
On March 11 and March 12, Platinum Supplemental Insurance also invited the Singleton Moms’ families to join its sales representatives and employees for a tailgating event during Spring Training baseball games in Scottsdale.
“It’s exciting to be a part of a company that values giving back to, not only our home community, but the communities that we visit,” said Mike Muench, Vice President of Platinum Supplemental Insurance. “Watching the children and parents of the Singleton Moms’ families enjoy a day at the baseball park inspired us all to continue making a positive impact in this world.”
