Platinum Introduces New Worksite Division

DUBUQUE, IOWA – Platinum Supplemental Insurance has announced the introduction of their new Worksite Division and the addition of Duane Frick of Dubuque as Director of Worksite Development.  The new division is designed specifically to help employers add voluntary supplemental insurance to their benefit package.

The launch of the Worksite Division comes as a direct result of Platinum’s newest release in September of their Cancer, Heart Attack and Stroke insurance product that offers enhanced screening and wellness benefits beyond those presented in traditional supplemental insurance products.  With the addition of the Worksite Division, this product is being made available to companies and business of all sizes to offer to their employees as an enhancement to their current benefit package.

Frick brings a long history as a seasoned professional in the Dubuque financial and business industry with him and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Loras College and a MBA from the University of Dubuque.

“A healthy workforce is a productive workforce,” said Frick.  “By introducing employers to a voluntary benefit, we are providing a quality product that is good for their employees and an attractive recruitment and employee retention tool for them.  Statistically speaking, 83% of American employees think more highly of employers that offer voluntary benefits than those who don’t.”

And, according to Frick, the benefit offering costs nothing for a company to implement and takes minimal administrative work on their end.  Platinum takes care of making the presentation to the employees at their workplace and follows up with them personally.

“We are excited to have Duane join the Platinum team, particularly as we present this new product under his direction,” said Wayne Briggs, President and CEO of Platinum.  “Duane has been in the people business all his life and has an outstanding reputation in the community that he serves.”

One of the key selling points of the Cancer, Heart Attack and Stroke supplemental policy is that benefits are paid directly to the policyholders to use as they deem necessary.  Platinum’s research showed that consumers are looking for solutions to paying high medical insurance deductibles and other non-medical out-of-pocket expenses.  As a result, Platinum’s new policy was specifically designed to tackle this concern by providing a lump-sum payment of up to $30,000 upon diagnosis of cancer, heart attack or stroke.

“Statistics show that more than half of the total cost of a major illness is non-medical,” adds Briggs.  “Not only is a person’s health devastated by a diagnosis like cancer, but often personal finances are equally at risk, making it difficult to pay rent or mortgages and cover living expenses needed for survival from day to day.”

For policyholders this gives them the ability to focus on recovery, not the financial hardship that critical illness imposes.  For employers offering the product it conveys employee appreciation and wellness.
